wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the kind generosity of residents
and businesses in North Lincolnshire.
Each year we take to the roads, raising funds to literally keep
the station "on air." We don't receive a penny from the
Government or the Lottery - every penny we spend has to be raised
by our team of volunteers.
To raise the much-needed cash we attend a variety of summer shows,
playing games - such as Pick a stick (where you could win a giant
teddy) or our own version of Play Your Cards Right.
We also sell our popular range of goodies.
During other times of the year we're also actively raising funds.
In November we hold the very successful Interdepartmental Quiz,
which involves every department at Scunthorpe General taking part
in a giant "pub-quiz." Thanks to an entry fee, and raffle,
it also helps raise a few pounds for the station.
Every December you'll catch us in Scunthorpe Town Centre with our
annual bedpush. The bed, complete with patient, is pushed from Scunthorpe
General to the precinct, where we spend the day raising money. Anually this event alone brings in about £1000.
