7.30pm
Down Memory Lane
Bert
Thorpes Memory Lane is now in its 22nd year of broadcasting,
having first started on a neighbouring hospital radio service.
The programme came, like Come Dancing opposite, by chance.
Bert had been passing an Old Cinema, which had just closed,
and started thinking about past-times and the many eras the
Cinema must have seen. Eventually we put together a script
of the Cinemas life, found a recording of old Cinema soundtracks,
and - on Christmas Day - the programme was finally edited
into place. Other programmes have included Dances bands from
the 20s/30/40s, plus local dancers, entertainers etc.

8pm
- 10pm You've Asked For It
This
is the programme dedicated to Hospital Patients patients.
Two whole hours, often longer, of requests. No-one offers
a wider selection of music (not even radio 2) From Pop Idol
Will Young to Frank Sinatra, Jim Reeves to Gareth Gates, Daniel
O Donnel to S-Club 7- they're all here. Join
presenters Brian, Iain, Andy, Jill, Rachel, Leyton and anyone
else passing by for what hospital radio is really all about.
If
you've got a friend or relative in hospital and they'd like
a request call us 01724 387777 and we'll play them their favourite
song, and not just on Wednesday & Mondays nights but ANY
night of the week. Requests ALWAYS take priority - it's what
we're here for.
